Disappointing defeat at Trallwn
The under-15s fell to a disappointing 8-3 defeat against fierce rivals Birchgrove at Trallwn Park. Forced into several changes, and fielding debutant keeper Theo Boden-Tebbutt, the Yellow and Greens were three down after twenty minutes and looked second best in most 50/50s in the opening exchanges. They did forge a few half chances, however, and from one of these Arwyn Adlam swept home after good work from striker Ben Chalk.
After the interval a diasterous 15 minute spell saw the hosts add four unanswered goals as the Dunvant players appeared to tire. However, a mini revival saw the visitors add to their tally twice. Skipper Jonathan Bebb set up Chalk for his fifth of the season and the striker then turned provider for Adlam's second.
The result was harsh on the Dunvant boys but there were several impressive performances. Defensive pair Owen Hope and Ryan James were back to their best and Bebb was outstanding in midfield. Adlam and Chalk worked hard all day and were duly rewarded with goals as the Dunvant showed that they can play good football even when under pressure.
A home match against Landore, next week, should give the team an opportunity to get their campaign back on track.
