Goal crazy at Ashleigh Road!
The under-12s bounced back from last week's disappointing defeat, at Bishopston, with a phenomenal display at Ashleigh Road. West End had won handsomely, the previous week, but never stood a chance against a dominant Dunvant side. Toby Merchant opened the scoring in only the third minute and goals continued to come at a steady rate from this point. Dylan Bebb added a penalty, Joseff Rowlands blasted home and Leo Burdett grabbed his first two goals of the season to open up a commanding lead at the break.
The second half was an opportunity for the Yellow and Greens to exhibit their full range of skills and the goals continued to come. Bebb finished with seven and Merchant five as the dynamic duo tore West End apart, almost at will. Rowlands added an excellent second and Luke Thomas arrived late in the box to head home Merchant's cross for, arguably, the game's finest goal.
This result was the perfect tonic, for the boys, after last week's loss but Manager Peter Wynne will be quick to ensure that they keep their feet on the ground in weeks to come.
