Super point for U16s at Plough

The Under-16s were good value for their draw against table-topping Plough, at Ashleigh Road.  The Dunvant boys showed great character and tenacity to twice come from behind to secure a 2-2 draw and, on the balance of play, probably deserved all three points.

Facing a physical, robust Plough side the Yellow and Greens struggled to secure clean possession in the opening quarter and went behind following a long Plough clearance.  The Dunvant midfield started to gain parity during the final minutes of the opening half and this momentum continued into the second period.

Sam Knight, introduced as a substitute, made an immediate impact outpacing the defence and firing into the corner.  Dunvant looked for a second but were rocked by a Plough goal which should have been disallowed for a blatant foul on Dunvant defender Arwyn Adlam.  The second equaliser wasn't long coming, however.  Jamie Cameron arrived on time to meet an Owen Evans corner to plant a firm header past the Plough keeper.

Despite failing to score a third, and claim all three points, the boys were clearly energized by their performance and will be confident of going one better against the same opponents next saturday at Dukefield.
