Thrilling comeback beats Gowerton
The under-15s hit back from 2-0, 3-1 and 4-2 down to claim all three points at a sunny Dukefield. Some woeful defending allowed Gowerton to gain the advantage on three separate occasions but the hosts showed great character to finish strongly.
After conceding twice, skipper Jonathan Bebb gave Dunvant hope with a 30yd free kick and, after the visitors re-established their two goal advantage, Jack Knill struck to narrow the gap to 3-2 at the break.
Dunvant were full of hope, starting the second half, but more poor defending saw Gowerton score a fourth. More disappointment followed as Ben Chalk blasted a penalty over the bar. However, the comeback was starting. Jack Knill capitalised on Adlam's deflected shot to make it 4-3 and then Jack Holland appeared at the back post to slot home after Chalk's excellent cross.
With a quarter of the match remaining, and the visitors visibly tiring, there was only going to be one winner. Adlam again drew a foul, 25yds from goal, and Bebb secured the points with a deflected free kick.
Realistically, this was an inferior performance to the one, in defeat, last week, but the character showed to come back and claim the win will boost the Dunvant boys. Victory strengthens their hold on fourth place, in the league, ahead of a fiery return against Birchgrove next Saturday.
