Under-12s hit Mumbles for EIGHT!
Dunvant's newest 11-a-side team made the best possible start to their League campaign, at a sunny Dukefield. Despite the long grass, the boys played some attractive football and were good value for their 8-0 victory over Mumbles Lions.
The first half saw the hosts take a 2-0 lead and lay the foundation for the victory. A solid defence allowed Iwan Preddy to control the midfield and provide the attackers with plenty of possession. Winger Luke Thomas was lively, before departing with an injury, and debutant Joseff Rowlands was also quick to make an impact. Rowlands provided the assist for Dylan Bebb to open the scoring and Bebb turned provider as another new-player, Toby Merchant, swept in the second.
Coach Peter Wynne made several changes during and after the interval but the goals kept coming. Rowlands smashed home his first goal for the club before Bebb went on the rampage adding another four goals to his impressive tally for the club. Sam Davies, also making his debut, added the other goal in a fine performance.
Bishopston provide the opposition next week, but on this evidence, the Yellow and Greens will be a tough act to beat!
