Under 16s open campaign in style

The under 16s were forced to come from behind in order to claim their first win of the league season against a spirited Gowerton side.  An enterprising opening was halted as the visitors' only attempt on goal looped into the Dunvant net.  Crisp passing was threatening to open up the Gwerton defence but, ironically, it took a slice of luck for the hosts to level the scores. A defected shot fell kindly to Ben Chalk, who needed no invitation to net.  Dunvant claimed a half time lead thanks to a stunning low drive from new playmaker Owen Evans shortly after.

A slight change in formation, at the break, soon paid dividends for Dunvant.  Winger Sam Knight sliced through and beat the keeper for his first Dunvant goal and the lead was soon 4-1 when skipper Jonathan Bebb hammered home a trademark 25yarder which hit the roof of the net before the keeper could raise a glove.

With confidence growing, the Yellow and Greens dominated the ball and started to create at will.  Cameron Davies, facing his former club, bagged two impressive strikes and Chalk added his second to cap an encouraging afternoon for the new-look Dunvant team
